In one corner, we go from a loving widow caring for her two boys and seeking to enrich the lives of young ones every day through the gift of music to the object of more than one man's desires, both for better AND worse. We've a grown man who has paid his dues in spades and THEN SOME, seeking to mend bridges before it's too late. Neither was looking for the other and still fate conceded to throw them time and again into each other's paths, building on the already ginormous spark bouncing between them, so that when trouble came a knockin', we were there with bells on. Their heated glances, shiver inducing brushes, and breathy whispers, all add up to an attraction that simmers right off the page. I swear, you'll want to read this one on a cold winter night because these two will have you warm and toasty in no time flat (hence my ADULT READERS ONLY recommendation).

In the end, I was thoroughly impressed, so much so that I will have to add the print editions of the series to my wish list (correction, make that the print copies of book 3 and 4 because I TOTALLY just ordered the first two over on Amazon ^-^). The writing is smart and witty, and while story certainly doesn't lack in the steam department, it also has A LOT of heart. So take a chance on an alpha male that truly is one of the good guys, even if his outward appearance will have you thinking thoughts more along the lines of naughty.

Mitchell and Lorenda's story is as heartbreaking as it is poignant. The emotions Ms. Alexander evokes and the lessons she bestows are just a taste of her excellence as an author. At the center of It's in His Arms is a tale of two brothers. Cam lived the life of a soldier. Duty before all was his motto and he followed that mantra to the end of his life. Mitchell had the heart of a rebel and the reputation to match but beneath the subterfuge was a sensitive man who was often misunderstood. A rush to judgment shaped the lives of both brothers. One woman holds the key to unlocking the secrets to two men. Will she risk it all in the name of love? I find myself becoming more deeply enmeshed in Red River Valley. The people, the emotions and stories that translate from fiction to reality. ( )
