One of my.all time favourites from teenage years. Own a copy and read multiple times. ( )

What ages would I recommend it too? – Twelve and up.

Length? – Several day’s read.

Characters? – Memorable, several characters.

Setting? – Fantasy, real world.

Written approximately? – 2003.

Does the story leave questions in the readers mind? – So much dialect and regional speak that in several places I had no idea what was happening. It seriously slowed the plot and made comprehension difficult.

Any issues the author (or a more recent publisher) should cover? No.

Short storyline: This is again two stories in one that wrap themselves together in the final chapter. The plot is good, even if much of it is impossible to understand.

Notes for the reader: Too much dialect and regional misspellings to truly be enjoyable. ( )

This book Is about a boy named Ben and his dog Ned. As Ben and Ned entered a bar to get something to eat, they saw a bunch of buccenears gambeling in a corner. As they watched Ned noticed that the spaniard was cheating by putting the pea in his lap. Ben told this to the frenchman who was lossing and was given some money for himself and Ned. When the frenchman plaied again, he took all the money and ran with ben and ned to his ship, "La Petite Marie". Wonce on the high seas, they were quickly followed by the spaniard and his crew in their ship. That night, they fooled them and snuck around the spaniard, resting in a small cove till the next day. The next day they were followed by a English pivateer. They were fiared appon and soon took off as fast as they could. to stop the pivateer from folowing fast, they shoot back one of their chainshots and took off their front mast.over the next few days, they started making their way back to France. Allong the way , theymet akind monk who resupplied them, lost their stearsman, Anaconda, and preformed the Trinidad Shuffle to quickly end any fighting that might have accured when the pivateer and the spaniard cout up with them. When they finally arrived, there was a mutiny abourd the ship as they were quiqly pursued by the spanish navy's biggest shipps on her maiden voyage and her first fight. As ben rowed the small rowboat away from the fight with his dog ned, they were shoot at and swam the rest of the way to the shore.
A few weeks later, he took up a quest to help find a lost nephew with the help of his new found friends. as they travel to the mountain layer of the Razan, they are not aware that the Razan are hunting them. When they finally do find them, they get put in a cell and Ben is taken away and the leader of the razan looks into his clouded blue eyes. it is over in minets as she sees the angels pure form and dies of a heart attack. ben and his friends soon escape with the healp of a goat hearder they take a bear and an avelanch comes and trappes the razan in their own hidout. as they find their way back to the goathearders house, they find that the bear is not a bear, but the person that they had been searching for the whole time. when they go back, they celebrate, but when the person tells them that he is going to give them his name, Ben and Ned flee the scene with the angels command still in their heads. as they approch the same spot that the "La Pettite Marie" had sunk, they meet a fisherman, who is a priest, and who also is the brother of "La Petite Marie"'s captain. Ben tells the father about his brothers demise and then hears the angel reminding him about the gold in the back of the rowboat that he and Ned had come up on. Whith the help of the fishing boat, they get the bag of gold and give it to the father. They only ask the small boat and happily take it out to sea, waving goodbyes to the Priest.
I liked this book because it was full of adventure. ( )
