I’ve been a fan of comics for a while, more so in recent years as women have finally been getting increased attention in a male dominated world. Any time there is a female centered story I have to jump at the chance to read it; having daughters I’m constantly on the lookout for reading material for them that showcase women in a positive light. In that regard this story does that well. The plot is interesting but at times it felt like I was missing something as if there were other stories I should have read prior to understand the full context. The illustrations are well drawn and full of color so they jump out to catch your attention. They are drawn in a way that enhances the story line instead of detracting from it. This was full of so much stuff. For one thing, did I miss Lana Lang and John Henry Irons getting together in New 52? Cool, but also I don't remember that happening. Also, Natasha Irons is back and being her awesome (and sometimes annoying) self. John Henry is still her uncle, and now Lana is some sort of mentor to her. Oh, and both Lois Lane and Lana apparently have powers. but, will they both be able to survive the book (after all the title is a little ominus). I've watched Lois on Lois and Clark The New Adventures of Superman, and on Smallville with powers, and I like those versions. I also think that like those versions they got how both Lois and Lana would probably use their powers very right in this book. Oh, and Maggie Sawyer is back in Metropolis. I guess Kate Kane/Maggie Sawyer is low on the chance scale now. Bummer. Not to mention, oy to Rebirth Cliffhangers. Seriously DC, I know that it's weird to be a TPB collection reading person in this day and age, but, still, you're killin' me here. I got this ARC through Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

But the art is classical and bright and clean, the plot was interesting, and the title irresistible. I really enjoyed the read, but did find the big fight scene to be a little anticlimatic. Wonder Woman fighting the Titan in the Power Couple series did a better job, I think, of conveying a truly exciting and colossal lives-on-the-line kind of fight.
I'll probably read more if it comes my way, but I won't spend much energy seeking it out. ( )
