Kylie Gilmore can take a good plot idea & through sarcasm, wit & emotion, make it something special. Madison was raised by her dad & older brothers & virtually no female influence. It seems strange that her friendship with Hailey would grow so deep but they each need something the other can provide. This friendship at times bewilders Madison because it confuses her. Madison was also influenced by her crush on Park. Park was born into a family of two addicts. Somehow he survived until Madison's dad moved him in & told him he was part of their family now. When Madison was 15, Park enlisted. Now, released from service, he's back & trying to find a job. Will he see the new grown up Madison or just the twerp from when she was growing up? Kylie took experiences we all have to go through growing up & wrote a wonderful "Happy Endings" romance. The addition of Park growing up in her family home added a wrinkle to what seemed like a hopeless crush. I enjoyed the way girly Hailey & tough Madison's friendship deepened & how they depend on each other. The other members of the book club are just as well developed & personable. I can't wait for the next girl to fall! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Madison Campbell has worshipped her older brother's best friend, Parker Shaw, for as long as she can remember. So the night before he leaves for the Air Force, she decides he's leaving town with her virginity. All she has to do is transform her tomboy self into a sexy woman with a bit of borrowed makeup and some creative fashion choices. The results? One drunken kiss that Park doesn't even remember.Ten years later, no man has ever gotten close to her heart the way Park did. And now that he's back, the very unfeminine Madison refuses to blow her second chance. But when her bold attempts to snag his attention ("Oops! Dropped my towel.") fail miserably, she does something completely insane--she caves to a makeover from the meddling matchmaker in charge of The Happy Endings Book Club. Hey, Park, you want some of this? Madison is about to find out. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Once a Kylie Gilmore fan, there is no escape. Inviting Trouble is just another reason why resistance is futile. How can you help but love an author that uses charm and humor to deliver relevant advice? Did I mention she’s does all this while stealing your heart? The lesson: Every color is special, don't be afraid to let them shine through. I just lost another little piece of my heart and I'm so okay with that. ( )
