Nice SFF mystery from an author whose books I've enjoyed in the past. It's very short and I think she tried to get too much into it. The worldbuilding is complex and interesting and the main character/narrator is well portrayed. We are always in the narrator's head, so we learn less about the other characters, which makes the mystery harder to puzzle out. The mystery aspect isn't as well developed as I would have liked, I think there just wasn't enough space in 80 pages. Still, worth reading for the world and if the author further develops the relationship in other books, I'm likely to read on. (
