I absolutely love this author's sense of humor and the way she sets up and executes an action scene. There are no whimpering women in a SSI book that need a man to save them but yet they do love their strong alpha men. Stuart “Tweeter” Walsh wasnt a SEAL or a Marine like his brothers. He was a computer geek but just as tough. Since being introduced to him in the first book of the series I've looked forward to seeing what the author would come up with for his story. I was not disappointed. DJ (Dahlia Jane) Poe is the latest recruit for SSI. Her childhood of being raised by an abusive father with ties to the militia and being violated by another man made her go on to become a kick ass Army helicopter pilot who takes no crap from any man. But her unresolved past and trauma come back to haunt her in more ways than one. When this author writes action scenes they are a force to be reckoned with. She doesnt shy away from having the women of the series be the ones that take down the bad guys and blends that with plenty of humor. Keely and Callie were already two bad ass women and adding DJ to mix no bad guy stands a chance against them. There is a lot that happens in this book. Not only the story line of her father and the militia group that want her back along with her mother that she finally managed to get away from them but also a separate SSI mission that included characters from the past and those two almost stole the show with their banter – I will forever laugh when I see the words Crock of shit now :) I hope the author will give us Crocker and Dawn story in a future book. I love the SSI world and look forward to hopefully many more stories in it. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

That's one of the main things I really love about this series. Even though there's romance and sex and a ton of humour- there's a lot of plot and while each book can be read standalone - reading them in order lets the plot build into something special. Actually it's kind of like Laura Kaye's Hard Ink series insofar as the plot running through each book. I like the whole jigsaw puzzle being put together as each book is released.
Tweeter gets his story! The brother and designated protector of Keely at MIT, Tweeter is a computer hacker extraordinaire and he meets his match in pilot, DJ Poe. I loved Tweeter in the first few books and I loved him in this - especially his new nickname from DJ
The romance was so sweet my teeth ached and it was majorly instalove but it's par for the course with the genre to be honest. The action wasn't as full on as some of the previous books in the series but what was there was intense. DJ was kickass in her role as arm candy and badass. I loved the intro to Dawn Wilson. She's so mean - I loved it. I can't wait to reread Dawn and Croaker's story.
