Frida and bear loved to draw, but they were having trouble with coming up with things to draw. Suddenly Frida came up with an idea to draw a random shape and then give the paper to bear so he could make the shape into a picture.
Anthony Browne focused on imagination in this story and how powerful it can be. This book would be fun with kids because you could show them the first shape and get them to use their imagination to guess what it was going to be turned into. ( )

This book does an awesome job at showing children that is good to show emotion and that it is also perfectly okay to ask for advice. However, this book was rather plain for me. I feel as though the word choice could have been better and the story could have had more details. ( )

I highly recommend this creative title for classrooms, school libraries, and public libraries. It uses the shape drawing game between two friends to encourage young readers and drawers to join in to some creative fun. The storyline is simple enough to let the drawing game take center stage, yet it's subtle emphasis on friendship is inviting as well. ( )
