An interesting action-thriller short story about a police sergeant doing his best to save Sgt. Major Bushell. I loved this story and since it was so short I am not sure how to write a review that wont give it away for others. The characters are well developed the scenes are so detailed that it is unfolding in your lap. All an all a great read the only down side is I want more book. ( )

"The entire soundstage uncontrollably shook with such powerful violence that it crumbled the fake and easily breakable structures it was supporting"

This is a very short story. (19 pages) It was quite creative and the action was non-stop, however I was distracted by the superfluous use of adjectives and adverbs in nearly every sentence. At times it was difficult to follow.

"He lunged toward the rapidly shrinking figure, whose finger mercilessly strangled the flamethrowers trigger; causing a horizontal geyser of fire to relentlessly sweep over each tree the figure flew past."

This was a head scratcher for me.

I was giving an e-book copy of this in exchange for an honest review. I did enjoy this short story. It is, obviously, quite short and very action packed. I thought the action was very fun to read and quite well written but because this was so short and so filled with action I didn't really understand the world at all or what exactly had happened to the environment. For the same reasons, I was a little confused by the "bad guy" characters motivation. He was still interesting to read about, I just didn't really understand why he did what he did. The dialogue was pretty good but some of it, especially the internal monologue, I found to be a bit cheesy. That didn't really take away from the story too much but with a story so short, every detail is very important. Really I found this to be quite an entertaining, fun, and quick read but I do wish it was a bit longer just so I could understand the world and characters a bit better. ( )

Environmentally Friendly is a short story and a very fast-paced one at that. Although just 19 pages long, it is descriptive, dramatic and powerful with a very interesting storyline.

An army veteran has broken out of a psychiatric ward and is waging war on mother nature in revenge for losing his squad, not in combat, but in a natural disaster. He is armed with a flamethrower and a chainsaw and the fine officers of the LAPD are ready to shoot to kill as required. One of the policeman has other ideas as he guides the veteran onto a movie set and recreates a tsunami, allowing the veteran to get his revenge after all.

It was a really interesting premise to use the power of nature instead of weapons to catch an escapee. The description of the tsunami was very dramatic and it was actually quite tear-jerking to see the effects of combat on this veteran.

The author should be applauded for such a unique storyline and for portraying the recapture of the veteran in such a humanitarian way when it could so easily have ended in a bloodbath.

I received this e-book from the author in exchange for an honest review. ( )

I’m so glad I grabbed this original, intense, wild rollercoaster ride of a short story that had me zipping through the pages, following a cop trying to do a good thing, giving more than taking and leaving me wanting more of this wonderful character. ( )
