F9TTVQPC Fly Guy and Buzz visit a castle and learn how they were made and how they protected the people who lived in them. I enjoyed this. I liked learning about castles (I love Medieval history and times.) It was good to see how different castles looked. I liked how the people who lived and worked in the castle were spotlighted especially the knights (heavy armor!) I appreciated the photos and how some castles have influenced us today. Loving this series. In this informational book, Fly Guy gives readers a tour and look into famous castles around the world. In the illustration, Fly Guy provides a time line of castles and how the designs have changed over the years. A couple examples and pictures included in the book are The Tower of London, England and Gate of Adare Castle in Ireland. From the purpose of drawbridges to Trebuchets, Fly Guy explains it all. Also illustrated and explained are Knight's and their armor, what servants and workers in the castle did, and even the food commonly eaten. Reaction: This is an entertaining and great source of information. The illustration and photos are sure to keep children interested. Extension: A good way to extend this to the classroom could be Reading this book aloud and have children draw or craft their own castles. Or dividing children into groups with one or more groups making the castle and one or more groups making armor for the knights. To make it more competitive, the finished products could be voted for to see who made the best. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
