Don’t ever judge a book by its cover. However, that’s what most people would do when observing Catherine Lyons Vaughn. Beautiful. Privileged. Kept. But do we ever give a thought to why someone chooses the life they lead. Most likely not.

“I can almost see her identity disappearing right before my eyes."

If you read any of the previous installments, you’ve been introduced to this character. From the outside, that’s all she seems. Vapid, young lady who is the sexual plaything of an older man. From the start of this story, Cat finds herself cast outside with no resources. What does she need? A white knight. Enter Rand Bishop. Not since Wyatt Banks from With a Twist (Last Call #4) has Sawyer Bennett wrote a character guaranteed to get your panties in a knot just anxious to be saved.

“I think I’d remember something like this…so possessive and animalistic. Necessary. That’s what it feels like..absolutely needful to him.”

Okay, we interrupt this insightful review for a fangirl moment:

HOLY HELL SAWYER BENNETT CAN YOUR WRITING NOT GET ANY HOTTER?

Now that’s out of the way. Cat and Rand are the perfect friends to more story you can easily get lost in. Both characters appear genuine and someone you can see yourself being friends with. Their love story isn’t one of control or who has the upper hand in the relationship. Each one wants the best possible outcome for the issues laid out before them because they honestly like each other first. Not saying that friends to lovers is the only thing this novel is about. Ms. Bennett brings us back to the Silo and all the awesome I-read-it-but-don’t-admit-it scenes that every erotic romance lover dreams. If you are familiar with the series, you get time with characters you fell in love with and time to learn more about those who we haven’t got to know as well…sigh Bridger.

Shameless begging starts here: Dear Ms. Bennett, I believe that Logan needs to have a M/M story. If you don’t think you can do the genre justice, go re-read your chapters 15 and 16. I humbly beg to differ on your opinion. #justsaying

Again, Sawyer Bennett provides the reader with a highly entertaining read. This series continues to get better and hotter. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the others. Her story writing always provides enough to give the new reader a standalone. But after you’ve read this you’ll want to one click the rest. All others who are familiar with her work, she does not disappoint. 5 out 5 panty melting stars.

Holy Hannah!!! The Wicked Horse series is back and the dreaded sophomore slump of book two, Wicked Lust has been shaken off and left far, far in the past!!

Rand Bishop has intimate knowledge of Catherine Lyons. Hell, most of the men at The Wicked Horse have intimate knowledge of Catherine Lyons. She is wealthy beyond measure, has a one-foot-in-the grave husband, and loves being the center of attention in a good old fashioned gang bang. At least, that’s what Rand thought. Turns out, Catherine prefers to be called, Cat, her billionaire husband, who was, incidentally a sick f&%# is now dead, and since she’s sleeping in her car, she must not be wealthy beyond measure.

On more than one occasion, Rand has been accused of having a well-developed case of white knight syndrome. He just can’t refuse a damsel in distress and when he finds Cat sleeping in her car outside The Wicked Horse, he is left with no choice but to take her in until she can get back on her feet. Cat has been so warped by her sick and twisted deceased husband and her past that she sees her body as her one and only thing of value. Her self-esteem and sense of self-worth are non-existent and though Rand dearly loves getting kinky with Cat, he needs her to understand his help is a no-strings-attached offer. Since the two have already been intimate with one another, there is a certain level of trust between them but that level increases quickly as Cat begins to open up to Rand about her life and her current situation.

Rand is appalled by the things Cat tells him and determines he will help her even if there aren’t any “benefits” involved in their arrangement. Given her past, both distant and near, Cat has a hard time trusting others but with Rand, she has always felt safe. Though she believes she isn’t good enough to really be with Rand, Cat decides to accept his help for what it is and enjoy her time by his side for as long as it lasts. The help Cat needs seems to compound with every new discovery. Her now-ex-stepson is vile and looking to either make her his mistress or deny her inheritance, someone takes a shot at her life, and her slimy, lowlife mother keeps sniffing around looking for a ginormous handout. Yeah, Cat needs help if she is every going to get back on her feet.

The Bottom Line: LOVED. THIS. BOOK. From the opening page to the very last word, I loved this book. Both Rand and Cat have made appearances in the two previous installments of the series so getting their full story is both timely and welcome. Wicked Need is what I expect out of Sawyer Bennett and I was not disappointed. This book has everything I enjoy in my reads: an interesting and slightly twisted plot, some truly sick and perverse characters which give the plot a whole new level of awesome, some kinky f*^$ery, two main characters who are thoroughly likeable, and old characters who make help appearances. Wicked Need is sort of the total package for me and I am so glad to see the series once again on the path of awesome. ( )

I'm just loving this super HOT & sexy series by Sawyer Bennett. This third book carry's on the super heat with Rand, a fantasy maker at The Silo coming to the rescue of a regular visitor from the the the club - Catherine or Cat as she likes to be called - when he finds she has fallen on hard times when her husband died. But he didn't just leave her penniless, he left her broken and damaged after years of mental abuse. Now Rand want's to help her see through the bad times and let her choose for herself for once.

And she chooses well. There's a little drama with lots of dirty talk, lots of hot sex and some M/M/F, I couldn't put it down, the story was so good.

Lots of great characters and I love them all, I'm looking forward to the next book and everyone is waiting for Bridger, me too. ( )
