I think this is a good suspense/fiction story of a family torn with abuse and the devastation that it leads. The secretive, embarrassing part of lives that go unspoken even to those close to us. I did find the characters well developed for women put into this position and maybe some of the reviewers that gave a bit more harsh review haven't experienced anything like the book depicts or maybe they have I can't say. All I can say is that I did think they were developed and each had a different coping mechanism.

What was kind of hard to believe, although I did see it came full circle, was that all the abusers were using the same threat to hold over their victims and then take that a step further and having them all be in the same family. That was taking it a bit far I thought but all in all it was a good read for a work of fiction. ( )
