A wedding in paradise! Tycoon Drew Jordan has been responsible for his family since the death of his parents. Now Drew craves freedom, not commitment--he'll help arrange his brother's tropical wedding, but he'll never walk down the aisle himself! Wedding planner Becky English has given up on her own fairy tale, throwing herself into making it come true for others. She refuses to let the groom's cynical--though irresistible!--brother get in her way. But when clashes turn to moonlit kisses, can they begin to believe that happy endings could exist--for them both? Drew having to care for a sibling from a young age is such a compelling backstory, it made it easy to understand his reluctance to take on the responsibility that comes with relationships. I did wish that Joe (and his bride) had been in this more though, that the reader could have seen more of their interactions with Drew, particularly with the way things play out, Drew’s ultimately delivered a hurtful blow that didn’t feel quite as emotional as it should have, it’s kind of just brushed off which didn’t feel right.
It’s a little challenging to believe that Becky was putting together a lavish wedding in a short time period yet her schedule allowed her to frequently play hooky with Drew under the guise of work, and when it came to Drew, you’d think someone that adamant about stopping Joe from marrying would have maybe tracked down his brother to talk him out of it as opposed to showing up early to help construct a pavilion for the wedding. So yeah, the set-up, Drew being on the island at all, and Becky seemingly having loads of spare time, that stuff didn’t seem entirely plausible but it did pay off really nicely with the ending, even if you see it coming there was a cute little twist.
