The little boy in this story seems to love making origami animals. Each page is a poem about different origami animals he’s making and has a picture of the finished product. The poems are short and silly which helps keeps kids interested. The poems vary some are about the animals and some are about how to fold them. One of my favorite poems was “Camel What went wrong? Lean against this sand dune while I double check the directions” the picture is a origami camel that’s messed up leaning against a salt shaker. ( ) I enjoyed this book because I have also folded origami when I was younger. It has a cute, imaginative plot where the little boy creates his own world with his creations. One particular poem was "Ostrich's Injury. I'm sorry my cat attacked. Glue? Staple? Tape? Band-aid?" makes the origami come to life. It gets emotions and thoughts to paper. The poem comes to life just like how the origami paper creations are alive. A boy folds various origami animals and descriptive haikus and short free-form poems accompany each one. Also depicted is the creativity the child uses to create the animals and play with them, such as the hole-punch snow or the picture of all his animals with accordion-fold fans taped to their backs. Includes imperfect origami such as the camel or the dowdy-looking moth and demonstrates to the reader that sometimes origami doesn't come out perfect and it's OK. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
