The book has lots of pictures of grizzle bears along with information about how they live. The book also has graphic drawings that show what you can find in the areas where the bears live. On some of the pages there is a page out of Ron’s, the author, field journal. It tells you from his own point of view what he saw on his journey. The book is very informative and well put together. I’ not sure how the can be used in a classroom setting but with all the information it has it will be great. ( )

This is a beautiful book. It shows the majesty of grizzlies in the wild mountains of Greater Yellowstone, provides facts about grizzlies and black bears, and gives narrative accounts of the author's excitement and anticipation as he camps in the mountains in search of grizzlies. The photos and the text and narrative are closely related. The photos, facts, and personal accounts in this book work together to evoke an emotional response from the reader. I wish I was out searching for grizzlies in the wilderness! What amazing animals! ( )
