A bit less humor in this third volume, but still a good read ( ) I really adored this series so much. I loved how this series tied everything together but with Rick humor and myths It was such a fun read. I thought this book really solidified my one of my favorite book themes including found family. I just really adored this cast of characters so much and how diverse it became. I loved how the romantic entanglements occurred in this novel AND I really just love Magnus Humor. I also grew to enjoy the various members on his quests. I felt like we really got learn more about these characters that we spent two books with. I adored the connection back to the greek and roman world and PERCY cameo made my life! I def really enjoyed this series and just want more set in this world! I really adored this series so much. I laughed, I cried, I almost threw my book against the wall. So, just another Rick Riordan book, to be honest. This was a pretty okay ending. I'm okay with this only being a trilogy instead of quintet. I'm going to miss the whole crew of these stories, but I have a feeling they'll show up in other books that are written in the future. I loved learning about all the Norse Mythology and the pronunciation guide at the end was a god send. If you haven't read this trilogy yet, you should. It's very, very worth it. 5 out 5 stars. I'd give it more if I could.
There really wasn't anything spectacular about this conclusion to the Magnus Chase trilogy. As a whole, I wasn't wowed by writing. The idea was good but the middle school humor and irreverent mockery of the Norse gods and mythology were a bit much in my opinion. Riordan obviously did a lot of research on the subject which I applaud but the execution was a miss. I didn't hate it but I didn't particularly like it either. As I think I stated on my reviews of the previous two books in the series, if I didn't always feel compelled to finish a series I wouldn't have kept reading it. If you like mythology and middle school-type humor you'll probably like this series. As always, happy reading!
