1st reading: All the feels. Although I *did* see the twist at the end about 10 miles off - it was the only conclusion that made sense based on the circumstances. Just gotta wonder if the woman is the archer - the one who shot at her. Curious to know if we'll find out who the spy was, or if it even matters now. Also wondering exactly why it is that the Emperor hates her so much - or does he even need a reason? So glad she refused to allow Daniel to come with her - I would have LOST. IT. if he had. ( )

This is truly one of the best series I have ever read. Man... the feels... I can't take it anymore!!!

After the cliff-jumping ending from book 2, I didn't know what to expect. It seemed more than likely Aldrik survived, cause he is such a main part of the whole story, but how? Would he be mentally or physically disabled? Would he be in a coma for the rest of the book,... So many questions!

As always the book just swallows you whole until the very end. There is always something going on, but never too much to overwhelm you. A great balance between all the action and conversations.

Without giving away any spoilers, Vhalla is uncertain who she is anymore. Vhalla, Serien, they're all blurring and she is so confused. There is only death around her and either she takes the north for the Emperor or she will die as well. And then... there is Aldrik. Le sigh...

I must admit... Just before the end of the book, I stopped, I just couldn't go on. I had this feeling things were going to go horribly wrong on so many levels. But still, I needed to know!

Needless to say, I will now need a period to recuperate from this adventure before I can continue with the next book. ( )

I noticed many were disappointed in this novel & I can understand why, but personally I didn't think it was that bad.
Yes, Aldriks character took a massive beating which I believe was just to enable Vhalla and him to be apart in the next novel. I'm sure things will be rectified, honor reinstated and love reignited (hopefully differently than portrayed so saccharine in this novel). Perhaps their reunion might have more of a fiery passionate adult edge.
The emperor must fall and Vhalla and Aldrik need to grow up a little on their own, and return as equals.
I'm still eager to see how this plays out, and I believe Aldrik can become a more noble, respectful & endearing character, not without flaws, but without his current severe psychological damage. ( )

My heart is still pounding hard

This book was full of joy and sorrow but mostly, it just made me hate the emperor. I already loathed him but this book tripled the hate.

I wonder how the author will play with my emotions next. ( )

I love this series, and I am completely addicted to its brilliant magical descriptions and storyline! It can be repetitive in parts, but it is a great read and great for escaping the normal world!
The book's start is action-packed as Vhalla proves that while she may be a pawn, she also a force to be reckoned with. We also see growth in Vhalla’s magical abilities as she masters her affinity and can harness it in ways we never imagined. In addition to character development, Earth’s End features a lot of relationship development- and not just between Aldrik and Vhalla. New characters are introduced.
However, other relationships become questionable and cause inner turmoil for Vhalla. Like the previous books in the series, we are once again left with a cliffhanger and are thrown a plot twist. The results of this are explosive- on both the character’s and the reader’s emotions. ( )
