It is not a standalone. You can't just pick up this book and read it without reading the first book. I have debated how I wanted to approach this review. I had so many mixed feelings while reading this one. At times, I couldn't stan Mack. Other times my heart warmed for her. My feelings for her kept flip-flopping all throughout the book. I wasn't much of a fan of Alex's for a while there in this one. I know, shocker. Everyone loves Alex. Well, his deceitfulness causes such heartbreak, I couldn't help but not to be a fan of his. Eventually, he redeems himself though. So, don't worry. I am not anti-Alex anymore. Tyler. What can I say about Tyler? His heart is as big as Texas and his love for Mack won't ever fade. His love for her is his best motivator. I couldn't help but to love him from start to finish. Like T.K.'s other books, this book is written with such meticulous intent and purposefulness, I couldn't help but to get lost in the pages. I was hooked from the get-go.
