It's an interesting world. One major slip near the end, I think - at the beginning it sounds like exterminators are something the ghosts are very likely to encounter, something they have to regularly worry about. So how come at the end Mallory thinks that it's only her and Law who can "do this" - kill the ghosts? Logic hole. Maybe it leaked over from another series, where the heroine is (I quote) "a very special snowflake" in relation to her powers (there was an excerpt from that series at the end of the book). The whole thing is very much a setup, though that's part of the story - Mallory, and Law for that matter, are being seriously manipulated. It didn't quite work for me. If I come across more of Mallory's story, I'll probably read it, but I'm not particularly inspired to seek it out. I wish the book was longer, but a lot of books have gotten shorter lately. I look forward to the next installment. I do apologize that while I posted reviews in places like Goodreads, Amazon, BN, etc; it never crossed my mind to post a review where I received the books...on LibraryThing Yes, I had an empty headed moment. The Incubus Job is loaded with action. It starts off with Jade our main character, on an assignment and struggling to keep her cover. I like Jade"s compassion. She now helps those she once destroyed but her soft side seems to have strengthened her instead of making her weak. The dynamic between Jade and Law her ex partner and lover has a nice balance. No constant drivel about their looks or body, and yet their attraction, as much as they fight it, is obvious. I loved the fight scene. It's described so eloquently I could actually picture each move, feel the fear and angst. This book is more than worth the read. Mallory and Law are great together and my only complaint is that the book was too short. The book only gets 4 stars because our heroine, Mallory, was a bit too ‘goody two shoes” perfect. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
