First off, I have to confess that I don't normally read vampire stories. But I'm such a fan of Alicia Dean's writing that I decided to pick up this book, and I'm glad I did. With LIBERTY AWAKENED, she tells the story of brand-new 18-year-old Liberty Delacort who accepts a mysterious invitation to visit the island of Sang Croc where she discovers family secrets, along with the island's not-so-human inhabitants. Once again Dean has created intriguing characters and puts them through their paces in a way that kept me turning the pages. My only criticism is that the story ended too quickly! I want to see what happens next in Liberty's journey! Great, quick read with a sweet romance just perfect for the character's age. (
