"If you know children who say "Ick!" when they spot a spider, this book will make them say "Ooh!" instead. Next Time You See a Spiderweb describes how these skilled creatures weave nature's most clever traps--their webs. It shows how spiders snare their prey with messy tangled webs and intricate orb webs. Author Emily Morgan takes a different approach in these trade books. Prior to reading these books you need to take some time and go outside to explore the object or phenomena that you will read about. After you have experienced the object or phenomena you come back and read the book. In this book we get to learn about spiderwebs. The illustrations are wonderful in these series. This is an excellent book to spark the imagination of children. Thís is an excellent book for engaging children. This hands-on engagement is wonderful for learning. Even though I’m not a big fan of spiders or spider webs. This book is very educational. It does a great job in explaining the different types of spiders and their webs. I like how the author urges the reader to go out and explore nature. This book could be used during science class.

This book uses real, up close photos of spiders and spiderwebs to teach readers about this amazing part of nature. The book covers topics including how webs are made and what their purpose is.

This is an A+ informational science book for elementary school readers. I think it would work well as a read-aloud for 1st graders & 2nd graders, as well as a book read independently by 3rd graders & up. I read it with my 5th grade summer schools students, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Emily Morgan's expectations for her readers and conversational style of writing are incredible. I also enjoyed the additional resources in the back of the book-- links to science activities through the National Wildlife Federation & more!
