Karen Armstrong's husband is murdered in what seems to be an incomprehensible killing. He's a respected man, an accountant who is liked by all his friends and acquaintances. But slowly, as the police investigate the murder, more information on the 'real' Howard comes out, revealing he's been living a double life. Karen and her three children must deal with the aftermath of the revelations.
It's an intriguing story with a lot of the psychological impact on Karen especially in the main. Karen's a weak woman, controlled by her husband, but hard to like because of her inability to deal well with her circumstances. She calls her sister anytime something goes wrong with her children though she does get stronger as the story continues. Aftermath of a Murder is an interesting read for devotees of this genre. ( )
