Some of these were a bit of a stretch, but they were all fun. One of the mysteries that stands out in my mind was told in the form of a story within a story. Only the inner story has anything to do with the mystery. The outer framing story contains neither clues nor red herrings, and yet it still includes interesting characters and even a bit of humor. It doesn’t serve the mystery at all, yet it stands as a testament to Weber’s desire to entertain. And that’s what he’s doing: he’s writing something fun just to entertain. It’s wonderful. ( )

The appeal of this tiny book likely lies in its looks, with its magnifying glass attached to a ribbon and its colorful pages. The mysteries are interesting for the most part, although the solutions to a couple are a bit of a stretch. But if you have fine minutes to kill, this is the book do you! ( )
