As always, I’m late to the Klune party, but I enjoyed this no less than everyone else. I just have to say that I totally connected with Gus. He’s my kindred spirit, my spirit animal, my brother from another mother. Seriously, I could relate to this guy so much - introverted grumpy reserved - so very very droll, and I loved pretty much everything about his neurotic self. Make no mistake, Casey’s no slouch either! His stoner persona imbued a Keanu-esque vibe that I fell hard for, and he was all things happiness and easy going. Not as extreme as some of Klune’s other comedies, but it still had kooky friends, the theme of family, and always the requisite laughter, feels, and tears. I don’t know why I doubt Klune’s talent every time I start a new series or book of his (blasphemy, I know), but I’m happy to say he hasn’t let me down yet! I lost count of how many times I burst out laughing while reading this goofy-sweet emotional-cantankerous book, what the hell. Humor's often a hard sell for me, but T.J. Klune seems to have my number somehow. I've looked around carefully, but the surveillance cameras are REALLY well hidden, so good job I guess! For those of you averse to explicit sex scenes, this is a romance with zero of those for very good reason. Besides, you'll be too busy laughing or saying awww to miss it. This is a great story, marvelous representation, and delightful humor. Read it! Silly, adorable, ridiculous, and funny. I laughed out loud on several occasions (and I also shed a tear or two.) Klune just has this way of writing that is incredibly real to me, even with a book such as this that's borderline absurd at points. What is normal and why would you want to be that? Should you try to change yourself to better fit what you think other people want from you? Is it worth it to put your guard down and let other people in, even though you've been shattered by loss before? This book had a nice approach to weed, even if drugs are not something I really want or need in my own personal life. Also, the romantic interest of the main character was asexual, which is something I've never come across in a book before. Simply put - I loved this. Not the best Klune I've read, but I think I'm incapable of disliking anything he's written. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Gustavo Tiberius is not normal. He knows this. Everyone in his small town of Abby, Oregon, knows this. He reads encyclopedias every night before bed. He has a pet ferret called Harry S. Truman. He owns a video rental store that no one goes to. His closest friends are a lady, named Lottie with drag queen hair and a trio of elderly Vespa riders known as the We Three Queens. Gus is not normal. And, he's fine with that. All he wants is to be left alone. Until Casey, an asexual stoner hipster and the newest employee at Lottie's Lattes, enters his life. For some reason, Casey thinks Gus is the greatest thing ever. And, maybe Gus is starting to think the same thing about Casey, even if Casey is obsessive about Instagramming his food. But, Gus isn't normal and Casey deserves someone who can be. Suddenly wanting to be that someone, Gus steps out of his comfort zone and plans to become the most normal person ever. After all, what could possibly go wrong? Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

This book is funny and heartfelt and kind of ludicrous. All of the characters are great and the story is really fun.
