![]() Aucun Actuellement, il n'y a pas de discussions au sujet de ce livre. ![]() Since I signed up to blog review for Tyndale, I've been offered almost exclusively nonfiction. I rarely read advice or Christian living books, so I was happy to come across this Christmas-themed picture book instead. It’s designed for parents to read aloud to their very small children and is packed with beautiful illustrations and a thoughtful layout. M is for Manger tells the story of Jesus’ birth using the alphabet—each letter is assigned to a word vital to the nativity story and a small companion verse about the word is on the following page. There is also a Scripture quote to accompany each little bit of story. I thought this book was truly lovely. An opening, blank dedication page makes it perfect to give as a Christmas gift to a tiny grandkid or nephew/niece this Christmas, and the alphabetical method of storytelling is intuitive and effective. For instance: “D is for Dream—“ section talks about Joseph’s dream concerning Mary’s miraculous conception and is followed by the corresponding verse “While Joseph thought about this, an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream.” Little traditions like reading aloud this storybook will help imprint the facts of Jesus’ birth on your kids or grandkid’s minds. I was given this book by Tyndale in exchange for my honest opinion. M is for Manger by Crystal Bowman, Teri McKinley and illustrated by Claire Keay is a delightful new Christmas book for children ages 4 and up. With each letter of the alphabet, the story of Christmas and Jesus' birth comes to life in words along with beautifully drawn illustrations. The story and pictures are enchanting! M is for Manger would be wonderful as a read aloud for younger children, a read along book for older ones as well as a wonderful way for the family to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you to Tyndale Publishing for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review. M Is for Manger presents the powerful message of Jesus’ birth in a creative way. Arranged chronologically and alphabetically, with simple rhymes, beautiful illustrations and reinforcing scripture, the story of God’s plan unfolds for children. This book is a great addition for family read-alongs during the Christmas season. If you are planning a 25 days of Christmas reading program for your kids or grands, then be sure to include this book. The authors have also included a helpful plan for using this book for teaching the Christmas story. A great way to refocus the holiday on Jesus, M Is for Manger is a recommended read. Recommended. Audience: ages 4-8. (Thanks to Tyndale for a review copy. All opinions expressed are mine alone.) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
