I really enjoyed this romance -- in some ways, it was a little less convoluted than they often are, and a little bit more real about feelings, which was a relief. The exciting background of a spy ring and insect study were both believable and very appropriate to the time period. I really liked the characters, too, and the amusing word play that crops up now and again (Pyebald, ha!). I'm not at all sure if this is aimed at an adult or teen audience -- it seems eminently suitable for both. -- looks like teen, but has a freshness and delight that will appeal to adults as well. ( ) An incredibly enjoyable and irreverent Regency romance with a side of espionage intrigue. I loved this so much! I found myself smiling while reading this, it was just so fun. I loved loved loved Juliana, the heroine, who is intelligent and not TSTL, and Anstey took pains to write the language in Regency style so it took a bit to get used to, but after the first few chapters I didn't even notice anymore. There was a lot going on in this book and the plot was a bit twisty and contrived, but it was a hell of a fun ride. I look forward to seeing more from Anstey. (Though I really don't understand all the keys on the cover. There was nothing that needed unlocking...) A sweet, light read. I think it could be a good fit for fans of [a:Gail Carriger|2891665|Gail Carriger|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1257289860p2/2891665.jpg], as long as they don't need a supernatural element. I'll definitely be recommending this one to our teens looking for a meet cute historical read. An absolutely charming and adorable Regency romp! I loved that Juliana had an independent and curious streak but still wanted to conform to society etiquette and propriety. She was so lovable and clumsy in an non-annoying way ^_^, and Spencer was always there to swoop in and rescue her, while remaining entirely un-smothering and non-stalkery. The romance is very slow-burn, and there are plenty of London society hijinks and frequent spy action to keep things rolling along. Also, my favorite romance trope: contrived flirting/dating that turns into something real. A delight. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
