So she is working at the clinic in her hometown of Trusty, Colorado. Growing up in Trusty was hard for Daisy since she was the object of many hateful rumors. Luke runs a ranch where he breeds horses and has had a better experience in Trusty but there have been a few rumors about him as well. When the pair run into each other, they have an instant connection and I loved the chemistry between them from the start. It was great seeing them try to figure out how to fit into each other’s lives. I thought that their relationship felt very authentic and I was eager to watch them find their happily ever after. B.J. Harrison does a wonderful job in bringing the books in this series to life. He uses a nice variety of voices for both the male and female characters which adds to the listening experience. I think that he is able to add just the right amount of emotion into his reading. I believe that his narration added to my enjoyment of this story. I would recommend this book to others. I found this to be a nice romantic read with characters that were easy to care about. I cannot wait to read the next book set in Trusty, Colorado. Being in audio format, it definitely enhanced my experience and helped me pay attention to some details I would have otherwise probably missed. Daisy and Luke start something that is from the beginning with an expiration date. Daisy has no intention of staying in Trusty, where people are anything but trustful and where false rumors start from nothing. She just has to choose from several job opportunities in major cities. As a doctor, she has the chance to practice in the big hospitals, not in an emergency only clinic in a small town. But a relationship with her high school crush was never in her plans. Their relationship is focused more on Daisy, as she is the one who has to decide where to go. But Luke is one character that develops as the story flows. He has his own family issues to solve and is willing to deal with them. I see him as stronger and with a clearer mind when it comes to dealing with issues, while Daisy takes her time with her trouble. Still, I liked them together, I liked how they support each other and I like Luke’s thinking ahead. Read the book, and you’ll understand what I mean. The author raises awareness on a couple of important issues like healthcare and abuse and this is something I respect a lot! Both subjects are treated with the attention they deserve, especially in case of the latter. The narration was great as well. I liked how B.J. Harrison kept the accent, how he changed his voice to differentiate not only between characters, but as well between their personalities. One scene comes to mind when Luke has a conversation with Daisy’s father and the respect Luke has for the man can be felt through the voice acting. All in all, I liked the book very much, as any Melissa Foster book. I cannot wait to see what happens to the other bothers and I do hope you give it a try as well. Happy reading/ listening! Luke Braden is the youngest of Hal Braden’s sisters children and is one of the main characters in Taken by Love and he is such a lovely man and wonderful character, owning a ranch and loving his horses like they were his children, his other love is the gorgeous Dr Daisy Honey, who has just came back to Trusty as she has just qualified as a doctor in family medicine and her father had a bad fall it is the perfect opportunity while she figures out which job to apply for.
That is of course until Luke takes her heart and she realises that the demons she had been facing since a teenager at school should have been left just there and to give people a second chance. Luke was also facing some demons that he needed to quell too.
I absolutely loved how this book progressed, and how the characters progressed it all flowed so smoothly. Love is a beautiful thing and as you read Taken by Love you will notice that it can happen at the most unexpected time.
Another great addition to the series, I have been hooked to each and every book and cannot wait for the next one. (
