In this book, we find that our hero Rick's girlfriend Molly has been kidnapped to stop him from entering the Realm and thwarting plans to destroy Washington with an army of drones. Rick sends his father's bodyguard, Victor One to rescue her, but Molly is extremely level headed and resourceful and manages to escape into nearby swampland where she is pursued by 4 assassins. Meanwhile Rick is in the Realm, mooching over Mariel and feeling guilty over Favian; the two previous mind warriors who are stuck forever it seems in this alternate reality.
There is a lot of introspective thought about God and His existence in the novel which may make it unappealing to some readers. I will read the final instalment, I am just not sure young adults in Australia would identify with the whole "for God and country" theme like Americans would. ( )
