This book explores all the interesting types of cars, some of how they are made, their various functions and a lot of “fun facts.” The majority of this book is not really scientific, and in general it has more to do with engineering. As an example, one of the pages starts out “I didn’t know that the best car in the world is a ghost.” That obviously is not a scientific statement, but a few pages later it starts, “I didn’t know that cars are powered by explosions.” Now that’s more like it! I think the best use of this book would be to perhaps spark interest in aspects of science and engineering for kids who don’t naturally gravitate towards those fields, but it would not really work for purely informational purposes.
