Turns out I really only like the MC romances written by Joanna Wylde and Kristen Ashley. I liked this one better than the last one by JW [b:Reaper's Stand|20821294|Reaper's Stand (Reapers MC, #4)|Joanna Wylde|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1394693045s/20821294.jpg|40167154]. You can read my review of that one as to why. Anyhoo, I enjoyed this one. It stayed pretty focused on the main characters' relationship. Puck was a badass but he wasn't bad to Becca ever at all once the first misunderstanding was over. I thought the motivations of the characters was well done. I was appreciative of the fact that until she went bonkers after being told her mother died, she didn't go ahead and start stripping behind Puck's back. That was obvious conflict and kudos for staying away from it.

Pretty sure that Painter's book is next and I am looking forward to it.

This paperback includes a short story which I haven't read yet but hopefully can get to it at lunch today. ( )

This was another good book by Joanna Wylde. She seems to have a knack for making books set in an MC as authentic as possible, but still emotional and romantic. This book introduces the new Silver Valley series. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. ( )

I so wanted to know more about Puck when we met him...him and Painter doing time and bonding.

Yea, I was wondering just how he would decide to celebrate his freedom. I knew there would be a woman involved but this....this...WOW! Talk about an F**ked up way to start your freedom and on your birthday of all things. Who knew that meeting Becca and saving her would be so life changing for him.

And Becca, to be mis-treated not only by her step-father but her mom too! How does any woman allow that to happen to her child, then to keep messing with her head as the years go on?!?! Would have put a bullet in her head if they'd let me. All she ever wanted was to rise above her past, not turn into her mother, and live a 'normal' life...okay that last part maybe not when you have a fascination with a bad-ass like Puck. And yes, she had moments of temper and head-up-her-ass but with all she had survived I'm surprised she wasn't a serial killer.

Puck was so whipped without her putting in any effort. To see his brothers laugh at his attempts to stay away from Becca and still stay somewhat sane....loved it! Loved when he finally claims her as his old lady in church and all they can say is..."about time". Then he had to figure out how he was going to tell her about it. Does he need some work in the communication department, oh yeah, but he's so in love with her and protective of her that you can forgive him his a**hole moments. It's not that he's lying to her or trying to hurt her, just a bit callous in the way he tells her the truth...brutal dude!

It was nice seeing some of the Reaper's and their old ladies. Getting a better feel for Boonie, prez of the MC, and his old lady Darcy. Hints as to the relationship (?) between Painter and Melaine (so can not wait for that book). Danielle and Blake should be an interesting story. And now the hints as to what is going on with Shane and his trouble with taking over the Laughing Tess mine...I think I'm going to really enjoy learning more about the folks in the Silver Valley. ( )
