This is a decent spin-off, but it's somewhat jarring to see Smith's illustration style without his writing style. I also can't say I enjoy Riblet at all. The Adventures of Big Johnson Bone, Frontier Hero happens in "a long time ago, years and years to be sure" before the Bone saga. We find the Bone ancestor, Big Johnson Bone, adventuring in the rat creature valley. This is one of the funniest comics I've read in a long time. Sniegoski takes the bone canon and twists it some to get the hilarious main character. He tells tall tales, but when push comes to shove, lives up to his words. And those words come in the great Münchhausenian tradition. One of the funniest aspects of the book are the little creatures, whose parents Big Johnson Bone sets out to save. They comment on the situation so naturally, but also with great humour. I would recommend this book for every Bone enthusiast and also for people who have not yet read any Bone books. This is a very good place to start! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
