Another adorable entry in this series. I enjoy the relationship between Takeo's parents, and I like how strong Takeo's mother is and how she's never portrayed as ugly or overly aggressive. Takeo and his mother are very selfless almost to the point they ignore themselves. This series has been very heartwarming and drama-free thus far.

Also, I think this volume teased a bit about the characters' futures. Is Takeo going to become a doctor? Yamato seems like she will become a teacher/daycare worker. ( )

How can this always be so awesome? We spend time with Takeo's mother this volume and discover where Takeo got his selfless desire to aid and protect those around him. The brilliant introduction of one new character in the first half of the book segues into another welcome cast addition in the second half. I LOVE THIS SERIES!! ( )
