Brooke has reeled me in with this novella… This is one of her best yet since Kitchen Affairs. I was not ready for this book to end, but it’s a novella… and it leaves you wanting, no demanding, more, more, more! Cecilia is a senior in high school, posing as her sister the college student, to get an internship that she believes will help her solve her father’s murder from years past. Bentley is being groomed to take over the family business. He is in charge of training the new intern, who ends up being Cecilia. What these two didn’t expect was to have a mutual attraction they cannot seem to fight, no matter how hard they try. They also have more in common they have yet to find out. I love how the story is developed in this first part of the series. It isn’t too fast where you would feel ripped off. It isn’t too slow where you would want to gouge your eyes out wanting the author to get to the point already. It is slow enough to torture you and fast enough to keep you waiting for the other shoe to drop! I have always been a fan of Brooke’s. If this story continues on with how it started, there is a good chance this could be my favorite series of hers yet! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

She's sexy, fierce, and a loud-mouthed know-it-all?and she's completely off limits. Cecilia isn't your typical college student. Hell, she isn't a college student at all, but that doesn't stop her from applying for one of the biggest and prestigious enterprises in the Midwest. She wants it. She takes it. She doesn't let anything get in her way when it comes to finding out the truth. When Bentley Leighton, soon-to-be CEO of Leighton Enterprises, meets "Ceci," he's instantly impressed. He doesn't have time to train a new intern. However, when he sees her that first day, his intentions begin to change. He's the boss. She's the intern. Nothing can happen. It's against the company rules. Then again, rules were made to be broken. What starts as innocent flirting becomes raveled up into so much more-secrets, lies, deceit. The Intern is book 1 in the Intern duet and must be read first. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
