The setting for the wedding was different, but surprising I had read a book with another wedding at a different hot springs. I would love a fire place in any room but a bathroom would be a special treat. II love Kiernan's home. Kiernan McAllister has been having a hard year after the death of his best friend and brother-in-law. He built his own company up but he has not paid much attention to it. Stacy Walker is cheerful positive person who has gone through a lot of tough things. She is single, unemployed and wanting to make a difference with a charity she started. I like her a lot. Max is a cute baby who is driving his Uncle crazy. When Stacy crashes into Kiernan McAllister's fountain a mix up happens. Kiernan thinks she is the nanny his sister sent him to help take care of her son. Stacy decides to hide who she is till she can leave when the weather clears up. She likes Max. The setting is up in Whistler Canada away from anywhere to close. A early snow storm has fallen and they are snowed in. I like the fun Kiernan and Stacy have playing in the snow. Makes you want to go out and build a snowman. Then the truth is found out. This deals a lot with grieving and survivors guilt. It is a clean read too. I have only read a couple of Cara Colter's books but want to read more of her work in the future. I was given this ebook by Net Galley and Harlequin. I agreed to give honest review of it in return. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Recently fired by the man she dated, Stacy heads to Whistler in hopes that an interview with the recently reclusive businessman, Kiernan, will save her journalism career and perhaps help her charity endeavor as well, but a case of mistaken identity and a snowstorm make things a lot more personal than she’d ever intended.
Many times I’ve struggled to buy in when a romance asks me to believe that a couple who’ve known each other for all of three days are prepared to live happily ever after with one another. I loved that in this one they experience a whirlwind of time together in the snowstorm where there were plenty of in depth conversations yet it doesn’t end there with declarations of love, more time passes, more getting to know each other happens so the pacing ended up feeling more reflective of actual relationships.
My only minor complaint (aside from questioning how an adult who’s lived in Vancouver their entire life could be a “snow virgin”) is that very early on when Stacy enters Kiernan’s palatial Whistler home for the first time, she envisions a particular event happening there and I was a bit disappointed that the story didn’t circle back to that in the end since the idea of it seemed to mean so much to Stacy and for Kiernan, showing him enjoying that would have further underscored how much he’d grown, how much he’d opened up his heart.
Some readers might be left wanting more twists, turns, and drama, but if you’re into character driven stories you can’t really go wrong with Cara Colter’s novels. This one in particular, with the popcorn, the snow, and referring to the baby as Ivan the terrible, satisfies as a fun fluffy read while at the same time it mines grief, guilt, and picking yourself up from under the weight of all that in an emotionally uplifting way.
