I love Dannika Dark's books, but not everyone gets a happy ending in real life! I love how she is so good with characters coming from abuse, but that skillful maneuvering is cheapened by all these broken characters being perfected by instalove. That's not realistic, and kind of bothers me a little bit. It seems like we should be strong, independent women, but that we need a hot guy to fulfill us. That said, I have no problem with reading Dannika Dark's books, in fact, I love her books and will continue reading them. But (I feel like a sadist for saying this), main characters are allowed to die, not everyone should get a significant other (thank God a certain British prick is still single), and not everyone can get the happy ending neatly wrapped up in a bow that this book gave these characters. I'm feeling so contradictory right now. Thank God they all survived! But dang, so many more feelings could have been stirred if these two specific characters had died. This book was a great wrap up to the series. We learn a secret about Novice & Page; the reason Finn's wolf is protective of Silver; the gift of sacrafice; that revenge can be electrifying; that one can change their outlook on life; family means everything; & that miracles do occur. The only thing I wish ended differently was Christian's story. A great series that I highly recommend! This was a great ending to the series, although I hate that it ends after only 5 books. The variety and paranormal differences set the series apart from other urban fantasies. The characters evolved throughout the books, and there were none that stuck out as getting on my nerves. In addition to the main storyline, there were also well-written secondary romances that added to the story instead of distracting your attention. I definitely recommend this series to urban fantasy fans. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
In the short span of a year, Silver has gone from becoming a Mage to discovering the truth about her unique genetics. Logan Cross went from her mortal enemy to her immortal lover, but a threat is fast approaching like an inevitable storm. Attacks are underway against the Mageri and one man is behind it. Nero is not Silver's only concern as someone close to her is arrested for treason. In the chaos, Silver discovers she cannot protect everyone from the wrath of fate, including her own Ghuardian. There is a LOT going on in this book as the author wraps up so many dangling story threads in this series, so I'll share a small sampling off what's happening.
-Halo is still working to find Nero and the labs experimenting on Breed genetics.
-Nero is trying to kill Logan, and various other counsel and high ranking Breed members in order to rule the world.
-Justus and Page's relationship changes as Page deals with her pregnancy.
-Logan and Silver face their biggest challenge yet as well as a few surprises.
Like I said there's a TON of things happening in this book, new budding love, existing love, second chance love, saying goodbye to love, drama, action, twists and emotional gotcha moments. I enjoyed this book but it felt a little chaotic, like everything was being tossed at me including the kitchen sink story wise.
