The book deserves three stars for its seriousness of subject matter, and I did enjoy, for the most part, reading it. But something was missing for me in the author's rendition of the father-son relationship. Though I did believe him, I almost did not care, or at least not care enough. I cannot know today what possessed me to read this book, but it appeared to be a much better read than it actually was. I was disappointed because of my own unrealistic expectations. I do this sometimes. I even tend at times to will a book to be better than it is. But I did finish it and read all the pages. And that is worth the two stars I half-heartedly gave it. ( )
