( ) Now I don't know if this is supposed to be part of a series? The author's note says something about "Giles needing a happily ever after in her head for a while" so whether that means his character has appeared in other books or just in her mind, I am not sure. I found bits of this story good. However it took too long for me to feel chemistry between the leads. But when they did I enjoyed the scenes they were together in. Also, I liked the plot idea of her pretending to be a man. I have read a few stories like that and they had lots of fun, humourous potential , but this one didn't take advantage like it could have. Add to that, the not really needed plot of Giles' search for the elusive Jack, and the quick changes and cover-ups that were a bit far fetched.. had me rolling my eyes and shaking my head thinking wtf? Now, I don't want to give anything away.. so I won't mention detail.. but let me just say I really dislike it when at the end of the book I am forced to say aloud... are you kidding me! and be left with the feeling of a pointless ending. I know my review doesn't sound too good. But it wasn't a terrible book, cause I could actually finish it. I will probably give this author another try, her writing was good enough for me to think that perhaps this was just a sub-par book for this author.. I don't know as it is the first time I have read her. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
