There are two different stories... Tegan & Cage's and Dirty & Ellie. When it came to the first couples story I skimmed. There was a lot going on and quite frankly it didn't suck me in... Now Dirty's story was compelling, heart wrenching, & AMAZING! You must know though, that he is not flowers & romance. He is damaged and messed up. When he stumbles across Ellie he can't help but protect her. At first he tries to keep her at arms length, but she moves in closer and closer. Slowly he lets his guard down and together they face his demons. I felt Dirty deserved a whole book because there was so much more that could have happened. He was raw and I loved it! The writing was excellent & I highly recommend it. *whistles and catcalls and screaming BRAVO right now* DAMN! This book kicked my ass! Though it was Cage and Tegan's story that I was so looking forward to, it was the surprise side story of Ellie and Dirty that ripped my heart out. Oh, what a messed up man Dirty was... and what an amazing story. Both of them. All of it. And I LOVED the end. Once again, nothing short of fantastic. Bring on Dorothy's story!!! 4 stars! I really liked Tegan and Cage but the secondary characters, Ellie and Dirty were my favorite! Cage stole Tegan's heart the very first time they met! She was 8 and he was 11. She'd asked him to join her tea party and offered him imaginary tea. “Wait,” he said. “You forgot to cheers.” I wrinkled up my nose. “Cheers?” “Yeah, with your teacup. My little sister always makes me ‘cheers’ before tea. Like this.” Lightly he clicked his plastic cup with mine. “Cheers,” he said, glancing down at his cup then looking back to me. “…Teacup,” he finished, grinning. “What?” “Teacup,” he repeated. “That’s what I’ll call you.” Little did she know that falling for Deuce's gorgeous son was the worst thing she could have ever done. "Girls are stupid like that. Falling in love with what they can never have—the untouchable, the seemingly larger than life, the unattainable." The adult Cage knowingly shatters Tegan's heart into a million pieces, why? Because he's Deuce's son, of course! LOL Gone was the sweet, caring boy he’d been, and his place… He became the cockiest, most self-centered, self-serving, egotistical, narcissistic, and depraved motherfucker I’d ever met in my entire life. Which, when I think back on it, is probably why I fell even more in love with him. Cage and Tegan's story is about letting go of the past and finding a future together that they both can be happy with. Tegan despises the lifestyle and everything it represents. Cage is being prepped to take over the MC when Deuce is ready to pass it down. Something or someone's gotta give. Now for my favorite part...DIRTY AND ELLIE! Yes, I loved Dirty. He was a grimy MF'er in Unbeautifully but you really get to know his story and learn that he is hiding deep, emotional scars behind all that dirt and filth. “Are you going to let me love you?” she whispered. He swallowed hard. He couldn’t speak; if he tried, he would just end up sobbing, so he nodded instead and Ellie’s beautiful face, her eyes, her mouth, smiled at him in return. Only Ellie can break through his barriers and help him discover that he isn't as despicable as he thinks. Dirty learns to let her in and finds out that he never wants to let her go. “Hey,” he [Cage] called out. Dirty stopped as Ellie kept walking. He gave Dirty an inquisitive look. “What’s up?” The man shook his head. “It’s her mom, brother,” he said. “It ain’t good.” Cage nodded as he studied Dirty. “You need anything, dude?” Dirty shook his head again. “Just her,” he said quietly and turned away.' Loved that! I really hope to hear more about Ellie and Dirty as the series continues! Great read, my favorite series in the biker genre hands down! Dirty was also featured as my Man Flavor of the week! Check it out! http://www.rebelbookchicks.com/man-flavor-fridays.html I loved this book, but I couldn't give it 5 stars. Tegan was such an annoying b!tch. I get why she was angry, but for the love of God, could she stop yelling and attacking people for 5 minutes? I would have loved to get more of Ellie and Dirty too. I knew I was going to like Dirty, but I didn't realize he'd be giving Ripper a run for his money as my favorite! I love Dirty and Ellie together, and I wish they had had a part in the epilogue. Can't wait to see them in the rest of the books! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

This was another tough, emotional read but the author is so talented she made me want to keep reading anyways. There's two couples in this book, all of them flawed and troubled.
Cage is the son of the president of a criminal MC, he's a man whore, with daddy issues, but as a kid he also took the time to play 'tea party' with a little girl. Tegen fell in love with Cage when he joined her at tea, they were close and as the years went buy she fell more and more in love with him. Tegen didn't have an ideal childhood but when she turned sixteen she gave a drunk Cage her virginity, declaring her love and he burned her. In her pain she turns into a raging, bitch whenever they cross paths and quite honestly she came across as more of a child throwing constant temper tantrums, than a grown woman much of the time. Cage has daddy issues and treats women as disposable sex toys. It's hard to like either of them, but watching them try to figure things out kept me reading.
Couple #2, Dirty and Ellie were the hardest to read. Dirty was raped and abused by not only his mother but his foster mother, he was raped by both women and men and he is extremely messed up in the head. He's a rapist, he drugs women in order to have sex with him and yet he saves Ellie from being raped in an alley. He saves her and he's the only one Ellie trusts to keep her safe. Dirty's head is so messed up when it comes to women and sex, watching him fight so hard to protect Ellie not only from her rapist but from himself, drew me in, cheering him on as well as wanting him locked up and thrown in jail. It was heartbreaking hearing his inner dialogue, of self-disgust, trying to fight his demons.
I still can't believe I kept reading this story, but it was so compelling I found that I couldn't stop reading. This story definitely has a happy ending for both couples but the path to get there is so broken and torn apart you may feel a bit bruised by the end.
