Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. Thriller. HTML:In her acclaimed Women of the Otherworld series, bestselling author Kelley Armstrong creates a present day in which humans unwittingly coexist with werewolves, witches, and other supernatural beings. Now, in this spellbinding new novel, a beautiful necromancer who can see ghosts must come to terms with her powerâ??and with an evil she never thought possible.

Itâ??s the most anticipated reality television event of the season: three spiritualists gathered together in one house to raise the ghost of Marilyn Monroe. For celebrity medium Jaime Vegas, it is to be her swan songâ??one last publicity blast for a celebrity on the wrong side of forty. But unlike her colleagues, who are more show than substance, Jaime is the real thing.

Reluctant to upstage her fellow spiritualists, Jaime tries to suppress her talents, as she has done her entire life. But there is something lurking in the maze of gardens behind the house: a spirit without a voice. And it wonâ??t let go until somehow Jaime hears its terrible story. For the first time in her life, Jaime Vegas understands what humans mean when they say they are haunted. Distraught, Jaime looks to fellow supernatural Jeremy Danvers for help.

As the touches and whispers from the garden grow more frantic, Jaime and Jeremy embark on an investigation into a Los Angeles underworld of black magic and ritual sacrifice. When events culminate in a psychic showdown, Jaime must use the darkest power she has to defeat a shocking enemyâ??one whose malicious force comes from the last realm she expected. . . .

In a world whose surface resembles our own, Kelley Armstrong delivers a stunning alternate reality, one where beings of the imagination live, love, and fight a never-ending battle between

Jaime Vegas is my favourite character from the Otherworld and Kelley Armstrong did not disappoint with her book! Although I did hope for more Jeremy/Jaime romance scenes, I was still happy that Jaime actually got a book. The fact that she only has one book does make me a little sad, but maybe there will be some short stories about her and Jeremy that I haven't come across.

This book had way to many coincidences, but I won't complain considering the fact I wasn't sure if Jaime and Jeremy would get their own novel, despite being (in my opinion) two of the most powerful characters in the series.

I felt like the book was kind of rushed and put together quickly. I would have liked more scenes between Jeremy and Jaime because to me it was going to be their book instead of just Jaime talking to other random people who aren't ghosts. Having the other characters such as Clayton, Elena, Karl, and Hope involved were nice though.

I had a lot of wants for this book and they weren't exactly met, but I love Jaime and Jeremy so I'm just happy they got their own book! Please make another one Kelley! I want and need more Jaime and Jeremy as soon as possible!

Five out of five stars! ( )

TW/CW: Death, death of children, zombies, murder, sex

RATING: 4/5

REVIEW: Number #7 of my Otherworld Re-read! I’m more than halfway through the series now, and enjoying it very much.

No Humans Involved is Jaime Vegas’s book. In this book, Jaime has joined two other ‘spiritualists’ filming a TV special to reach the spirit of Marilyn Monroe and discover how she died. While on the set, she discovers the weakened ghosts of dead children, which starts a supernatural investigation into how they died and who is killing them.

I really enjoyed this book. Jaime is a great character and I loved getting to know her a little better than we had in the previous books she wasn’t narrating. I also really enjoyed seeing the relationship between her and Jeremy finally go somewhere, after books of tension.

I recommend this book to fans of Urban Fantasy and Kelley Armstrong! ( )

No Humans involved follows a familiar character whose perspective readers have not yet heard in the Women of the Otherworld series - Jamie Vegas. Following Jamie, we see from the necromancer side of things how her powers work, what she sees, etc. Eve returns as her friend and partner, a new friend appears in the form of Hope Adams, and the romance with Jeremy bubbles to the surface, all the while mysterious ghosts are begging for Jamie's attention. As always, Kelley weaves multiple genres into this dark fantasy series, making for an enthralling read. ( )

Pretty okay, but not as good as the Elena-series by Armstrong. Oh well, still a fun read. ( )

i dropped in on this series at book 7, and it was a romp. I don't actually care for the world-building at all, but the characters are great and it was a fun read. ( )
