TW/CW: Death, death of children, zombies, murder, sex RATING: 4/5 REVIEW: Number #7 of my Otherworld Re-read! I’m more than halfway through the series now, and enjoying it very much. No Humans Involved is Jaime Vegas’s book. In this book, Jaime has joined two other ‘spiritualists’ filming a TV special to reach the spirit of Marilyn Monroe and discover how she died. While on the set, she discovers the weakened ghosts of dead children, which starts a supernatural investigation into how they died and who is killing them. I really enjoyed this book. Jaime is a great character and I loved getting to know her a little better than we had in the previous books she wasn’t narrating. I also really enjoyed seeing the relationship between her and Jeremy finally go somewhere, after books of tension. I recommend this book to fans of Urban Fantasy and Kelley Armstrong! No Humans involved follows a familiar character whose perspective readers have not yet heard in the Women of the Otherworld series - Jamie Vegas. Following Jamie, we see from the necromancer side of things how her powers work, what she sees, etc. Eve returns as her friend and partner, a new friend appears in the form of Hope Adams, and the romance with Jeremy bubbles to the surface, all the while mysterious ghosts are begging for Jamie's attention. As always, Kelley weaves multiple genres into this dark fantasy series, making for an enthralling read.

Readers around the world have fallen for Kelley Armstrong's intoxicating, sensual, and wicked tales of the paranormal, in which demons, witches, werewolves, and vampires collide-often hilariously, sometimes violently-with everyday life. In Armstrong's first six novels, Elena, Paige, and Eve have had their way with us. Now get ready for Jaime Vegas, the luscious, lovelorn, and haunted necromancer. Jaime, who knows a thing or two about showbiz, is on a television shoot in Los Angeles when weird things start to happen. As a woman whose special talent is raising the dead, her threshold for weirdness is pretty high: she's used to not only seeing dead people but hearing them speak to her in very emphatic terms. But for the first time in her life-as invisible hands brush her skin, unintelligible fragments of words are whispered into her ears, and beings move just at the corner of her eye-she knows what humans mean when they talk about being haunted. Jaime is determined to get to the bottom of these manifestations, but as she sets out to solve the mystery she has no idea how scary her investigation will get or to what depths ordinary humans will sink in their attempts to gain supernatural powers. As she digs into the dark underside of Los Angeles, she'll need as much Otherworld help as she can get in order to survive, calling on her personal angel, Eve, and Hope, the well-meaning chaos demon. Jeremy, the alpha werewolf, is also by her side offering protection. And, Jaime hopes, maybe a little more than that. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

This book had way to many coincidences, but I won't complain considering the fact I wasn't sure if Jaime and Jeremy would get their own novel, despite being (in my opinion) two of the most powerful characters in the series.
I felt like the book was kind of rushed and put together quickly. I would have liked more scenes between Jeremy and Jaime because to me it was going to be their book instead of just Jaime talking to other random people who aren't ghosts. Having the other characters such as Clayton, Elena, Karl, and Hope involved were nice though.
I had a lot of wants for this book and they weren't exactly met, but I love Jaime and Jeremy so I'm just happy they got their own book! Please make another one Kelley! I want and need more Jaime and Jeremy as soon as possible!
Five out of five stars! ( )
