Warning...this is a serial novel. There are pros and cons for serials. I'll let you make your own judgements on what you think about serials...

Issy is new to town, living with her best friend Angel (don't you just love those two names) and it gets better. Angel is dating a guy in a rock band, so you have the whole gang of guys for comedic relief jumping in and out of the story. Issy and Angel live together in Manhattan, and Issy is an interior designer making a name for herself, just starting her own business. She's opened up shop in the Orion building and secured her first clients.

Issy's history with men is a bit overboard, she's a self-professed over-doer of one-night-stands, a love 'em and leave 'em kind of gal. Of course, she's a bit clichéd as a main character, overly gorgeous and admired by the male masses, but hey, this is a romance! She's always been in control, but now she's focusing on work...so yeah, she's on a sex ban.

Can you see how this is going to work out.

Enter Lucas Hunter, owner of the Orion building, a secretive and reclusive multi-millionaire, also a walking cliché, but again, this is a romance novel. Every one of our characters is overly hot, overly mysterious and yada, yada, yada... He is always in control. A workaholic. Never socializes.

There's instant heat. There's attraction. Chemistry. And their attempt to stay apart ends the in the typical way you would expect.

What I liked about this story was the engaging writing style. JD Chase is able to captivate, and despite the clichés, I was drawn into the lives of the characters and felt the attraction and heat rolling off the pages.

What I didn't like...Lucas Hunter was supposed to be this recluse. One moment he's this mysterious stranger, yet the next he's tripping over himself spouting off his 'everlasting NEED' for her. And yes, they wind up back at her place to do the deed as it were. Which is where this book ends...which is where I didn't like the ending. But that is what you get with a serial. There has to be a hook to get you to the buy the next installment.

But, really do I care? Is this why I buy the books? Honestly, NO. I buy books to escape and lose myself for a few hours. And in this JD Chase certainly delivered. I spent less money here than I would have to go to see a movie and I certainly spent more time enjoying the time I spent with her characters. SO, sue me, but I consider it money well spent. ( )
