When his turn comes around, he dares Gina to pose as his girlfriend to help get a flirty colleague off his back. Gina finds playing couple with Chris way too much fun.Even though Gina and Chris are pretending, their relationship begins to feel painfully real. This novella will bring an ear-to-ear smile in one-sitting -- 82 pages and you'll be glad you made the time!
So why only three stars? It's a novella that is not novel in it's story line or presentation and won't linger on your mind for days, making you think. It's pure entertainment making you want to Gibb's-slap Gina on the back of her head before reaching the 35% mark. You know how things will end up and, before you know it, you're there.
The only logical flaw I have an issue with in this fictional romance, not that fictional romances and required to be logical, is that Chris says he's had his heart broken in the past and knows what heartbreak feels like. Well, his heart was "broken" by Gina, but they had never been in a relationship before this book's setting. How can one have his heart broken by a girl with whom he's never had a relationship?!? His heart might have ached for a chance with her and "happily ever after", but he certainly could not have had his heart broken by her.
I know. It's a small issue, but, nevertheless, even novella romances must be believable to be believable.
I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a review. What a great way to start off a summer's day - with a happy-ending quick read! ( )
