This chapter book described Babe Ruth’s life. The language of this chapter book was very well written and geared for children. For example, “Ruth’s innocent behavior at his finest spring-training camp was amusing to the older-players.” This is book was information for children who are interested in learning about Babe Ruth and how he had impacted history. This book also included many illustrations. These illustrations helped the readers understand the events that were happening throughout the story. This biography book illustrated the weaknesses and the strengths of Babe Ruth. The details in this were appropriate for the targeted audience. The book was unbiased and the information was authentic. The main idea or message of this story was to share life events of a famous baseball player. Summary: "Babe Ruth" is a biography about the great baseball player who played during the early 1900s. The story briefly talks about George Herman Ruth (his full name) during his childhood all the way up to when he passed in 1948. His time playing with the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees is touched on in the book as well. Review: Baseball being one of my favorite sports, I enjoyed reading this brief biography about the Babe and how he changed baseball in America for the better. Babe Ruth was an unbelievable baseball player, one of the first players to be named to the baseball hall of fame. This book would be a great fit for any child looking to get into a sport, preferably baseball. This book captures the life of Babe Ruth, the best baseball player in the game. I think this is a wonderful book for young readers that are boys. First, I liked this book because the illustrations were “olden”, but at the same time they were engaging and colorful. The illustrations in this book captured the time period that Babe Ruth played baseball in. For example, there were drawings of Babe Ruth in a New York Yankees uniform and the jersey he was wearing was the jersey the Yankees wore in the early 1900s. There were also many drawings of baseball stadiums, the equipment that was worn, and the umpires. These illustrations give young readers a great depiction of what baseball was like many years ago. It shows many similarities and differences when comparing it to the game of baseball today. Next, I really liked how the book not only talked about his journey of playing baseball, but also showed the challenges he faced throughout his life. He persevered through a lot as a young boy, as he held many responsibilities at such a young age.Yet, he found time to play outside and discover the game he loved (baseball). This is a great message for young readers that are reading this book. Lastly, I liked the writing technique that was used throughout this book. Usually, books that talk about an influential person can get boring. Though, this books writing style was engaging, as the author incorporated stories throughout his childhood that children can relate to. The main idea of this book is to follow your dreams and not to let life get in the way of them. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
