I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. Started reading this book without having read the first one, Temptation. Was very surprised at how quickly I got sucked into this story, and it was fascinating reading about the differences between Amish and American customs. The chemistry between all the couples was really well done and I can't wait to pick up the next book and see how things turn out. ( )

The roller coaster ride of Noah and Rose continues in this, the second installment of this series.

I had originally read the third book in the series before the first and second, and I thought in reading the earlier installments, it would be harder to follow along because I already knew how the story was going to end. Yet, I felt so compelled to keep going because there were so many unexpected and impossible to have predicted turns in the plot.

I love the idea of being able to do whatever it takes to be with the one you love, and it is a notion I feel lost in the world we live in now. I have frequently stated that I am not a fan of romance novels, because I just can't believe in the happily ever after when it is so infrequently what happens in reality, but it will be books like this that will change that perspective for me in a heartbeat.

Ms. Hopkins has created a world in which true love triumphs. No matter what the world (and Rose's family) throws at this young couple, they are determined to be together. Will love win out? Well, you are going to just have to read it to find out!

There were a few minor editing missteps but overall the book was well written, well edited, and I read all of it's 400 pages in less than 36 hours.

This story was well written, and there are a few plot twists toward the end that will leave your heat racing and unable to put this page-turner down. I am sad to have finished all three books in this series and look forward to whatever else this author has coming for us rabid readers in the future.

Thank you to the author and the publisher for a review copy via Netgalley. ( )

My strongest thoughts on this book were 1) what if you made a high school romance story about a girl giving up her English life for an Amish life, all for the man she loved...and 2) make it into a soap opera..this is the book for you.

I nearly flounced. Out of character thoughts, selfish characters, and twists that felt more like Days of Our Lives than Witness.

Although I dont read bonnet books or watch soaps, so maybe this just isnt my genre.

For some reason, I think that Belonging tried to be a little too much for me, and as a result it fell a bit flat. The characters didn't really have the same dimension that they originally had, but the romance was still fairly good. Until it wasn't-- I feel like Rose and Noah just let each other go way too easily.

I don't feel like their hearts were breaking, or that they'll never love other people-- I feel like maybe they should both just move on. If your entire family is against something, it stands to reason, right? I mean, I love a good forbidden, but if neither one of them is willing to compromise for the other, it's just not going to work.

It's destined to become this huge fail, especially with that huge bomb that got dropped near the end. Don't get me wrong, I am interested in what happens next. I'd like to know more about Sam and Summer, and I want more than anything a happy ending. But I just don't think that it'll work out.

As much as I'd like to see it, I just don't think that it should be in the cards. Moving on.

We get to see a little bit of relationship development with Sam and Summer, but I don't feel like either of the characters was really doing it for me. Sam felt flat, and although I liked Summer, she did too. I did think that their romance was cute, though!

My final impression of Belonging is this: I just want for everything to work out. I'll read the next one, but I'm really not sure that Rose and Noah should be together-- it's just causing a lot of problems. Before they get together (if) they should definitely do some growing up. I'll say that I'm fairly mediocre about this one. ( )
