Counting A little girl who start being anxious about school begging soon, because she didn't know how to tie her shoes, looking for creative way to make her shoes disappear, at her first day of school she find out she is not the only one that can't tie her shoes and school don't since to be that bad after all. Ages 4-5 tacoma library I liked this book because I thought that young children would really enjoy it. The main message that I got from the book was to not worry about the future. The little girl spent so many days before kindergarten worrying that she missed out on her last few days of summer. In the end, everything ended up being just fine which made her realize that she had nothing to worry about. As I am someone who struggles with anxiety and worrying, it is reassuring to read a book like this and see that the outcome turns out perfectly fine and more children are in the same position as her than she realized. I think the illustrations go perfectly with the book because they really depict what the author wrote as the text. For younger students who struggle with reading, they would definitely be able to use the pictures as context clues to understand that is happening throughout the story even if they were unable to read all the words. The character’s position in the story is believable because most children are nervous for their first day of school so the children will be able to relate well with the little girl in the book. This book is about a kindergarten who was terrified of going to school because she had to know how to tie her shoes, couldn't bring her stuffed animal, and her cat couldn't go to school with her. For most kindergartens the first day of school varies, some kids are scary and some are very excited about attending. She had nine days to go before she attended school; she did all she could to try and learn how to tie her shoes. She tried to do all she could to get rid of her shoelaces but that didn't work out so well. She knew how to count backwards from ten so that was a plus for her, so as the days went by she finally got a chance to experience her first day and after all she didn't feel like she was in trouble. When she got there she wasn't the only one that didn't know how to not tie shoes. This is such a wonderful book I really liked it. It was about a girl that was afraid to start kindergarten because someone told her she needed to know how to tie her shoes and she did not know how. 10 days before school started she practiced but by the time school started she still did not know how to tie her shoes. Finally, the first day of school starts and she realizes only three students know how to tie their shoes. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
