Chargement... The Gingerbread Man (Usborne First Reading)par Mairi Mackinnon

This classic story is about an old married couple who decides to make a gingerbread man cookie. The gingerbread man comes to life and runs out of the house yelling “Run, run as fast as you can! You can’t catch me, I’m the gingerbread man.” The old married couple, a cow and a cat cannot catch him. He meets a sly fox that’s just as quick as him; the fox tricks him then eats him up. I love the gingerbread man; one of my greatest childhood memories was when I was in Kindergarten and we read this book then made gingerbread houses. This story is very amusing and keeps kids on their feet. I love the transition from a cookie to a boy; sort of like Pinocchio. This book is funny and never gets old. This was one of the books I read during my service learning. I asked for two volunteers while reading the story; one held up a gingerbread man while the other repeated the famous line every time it came up. This allowed the kids to get involved and they enjoyed the book. Afterwards, we ate gingerbread men and the kids drew their very own gingerbread man then colored it. This was the first book I read and the kids loved it; this made going back to read a second book more relaxing and fun. The kids get excited every time I come to read, especially because they know I always bring treats. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
