The good points were that I didn't get bored, I wanted to keep reading. The characters were very likable except what I add in the bad point’s area. I did like learning about Maine in Great Depression and the flourishing of alcohol smuggling. The description of Las Vegas during the 1930s was interesting.
The bad points were that the protagonists did not report to the police when they found the body and they also kept money that they knew was tarnished. Even I liked them otherwise, I could not let go of my own views of their behavior. Also, there was more explicit discussion of sex or not being able to have sex than I felt comfortable with. I don't think the book needed that.
Would I recommend this book? No, I was torn between loving the historical details and being mad at the characters for their decisions. (
