First Thought when Finished: Micah & Mrs. Miller was a delightful blend of a good old-fashioned Cowboy romance with a bit of a twist!
What I Thought of the Story: Micah & Mrs. Miller is the 3rd in the Fevered Hearts series. This is a series where we follow the extraordinary lives of the people from the Flying K Ranch. This story introduces Josephine Miller, the new school teacher for the Flying K. She brings a long a little bit of trouble in the form of her abusive husband that she is running away from. Her ex-husband is an even bigger threat than she realizes. While the pacing in the beginning of the story is a little slow, once you hit the dance the rest of the story flows beautifully. There is a lot going on with the story and while the focus is Micah and Mrs. Miller, you will get plenty of Kid and Jason too. Without giving anything away, things get pretty bad for the folks at the Flying K and my heart just broke towards the end. I was actually brought to tears at one point. That being said, there is a lot of action to go with the heart of the story so you better buckle in!
What I Thought of the Characters: Here is where I think Heather Long shines! I loved Micah! He was the epitome of how I think good Cowboys were raised. He was polite, well-mannered, sexy as hell, and had a mega-watt grin. Josephine didn’t stand a chance. I really liked Josephine too though I think she could have been more upfront with Micah once she got to know him. However, in that day and age being a woman was tricky so I don’t blame her one bit. I love everyone out at the Flying K but especially Kid and Jason. I am really looking forward to how their lives and loves fold out over time.
Final Thought: Micah & Mrs. Miller is a delightful addition to the Fevered Hearts series. If you love Sexy Cowboys with a twist then you will love this series. ( )
