Second a very nice surprise: we are dealing with a main character with a disability, he is temporarily deaf, and I really liked how the author introduced and managed this side of the story, there were trouble, but there was no false pity.
Clay and Logan were best friends and then, a stupid mistake, broke them apart. I said stupid since if they had the courage to talk to each other nothing would have happened; but both Clay than Logan had a troubled youth and trust was not easy for them. But the love was never a question, and so, when Logan needs Clay, Clay is there without asking for anything if not being there.
The love between them is easy and natural, but it was actually a love waiting 16 years to blossom; so it’s no surprise that when these two decide to finally talk, everything that seemed so impossible when they were in college, is now only a natural evolution in their relationship. Both Logan than Clay had other relationships in the past, and while they both admit they were never in love like with each other, they are not disowning what those relationships taught them, that being part of a couple make them complete.
The story could have been really full of drama, but the author preferred a lighter touch, it’s for sure not “light” in the sense of comedy or funny, but it’s basically more kind and comfort than drama and dark.
