A Cure For The Condition is a classic tale of an abiding love between two characters, spanning the course of two decades. The main character, Catherine the queen of the fictitious land of Cannary,is both regal and lovable at the same time. (Although, I enjoyed drunk, tipsy Catherine far more than the other versions in this book!) Malcolm, is a bit of a scoundrel, but no less appealing than Catherine, perhaps more so! When tragedy strikes Catherine's kingdom, she is forced to punish those responsible for the death of her mother and step-father, going against her own heart in the process. As the years go by and Catherine continues to hold Malcolm at arms lengths her health deteriorates in return. In the end she will learn that some secrets cost far too much to keep, and the truth always will set you free. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The writing is especially wonderful and the characters rich and multi-faceted. ( )
