The follow up to Architecture for Humanity's highly successful "Design Like You Give a Damn" arrived in 2012, six years after the first. Even though it has a different publisher, it follows the same format: introduction by AFH founders Cameron Sinclair and Kate Stohr, collecting and presenting around 100 commendable projects, a square page size, and even the rough, recycled paper. There are more high-profile projects in the second book than the first one (the High Line, for example, a questionable inclusion given its ties to exclusivity and gentrification in the area) and not as many of the most notable socially conscious projects, which the first book came close to exhausting. Nevertheless, there's plenty of inspiration in these pages for designers looking to make a difference. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
With the rise in social demand for recycling programs and sustainable living, this volume documents more than 100 new projects from around the world. It is packed with practical and ingenious design solutions that address the need for basic shelter, housing, education, health care, clean water and renewable energy.
